Inspiration

Gifts are infinitely more meaningful when people add their own personal touches. At lewswork.shop we hope to give people the opportunity (hopefully at makers market this year - yes this is free marketing) to make more sentimental gifts without fully investing in a jewelry making hobby.

What it does

Our website allows users to customize a bead keychain from an given assortment that can be ordered and made by lewsworkshop (@lewsworkshop on instagram - more free marketing)! It's similar to beadworks (link - free marketing for everyone) on Granville Island but digital in attempt to give users the freedom to customize keychains for themselves or others from the comfort of their own home.

How we built it

We built this project using Next.js, Tailwind CSS, mongodb and express :)

Challenges we ran into

A few challenges we ran into were setting up a database, implementing a drag and drop feature (which became just drag T^T) and not falling asleep 💀.

We set up a database!! and it looks very cutesy :)

What's next for lewswork.shop

In the future, we are hoping to add different options so that customers can make different kinds of lewelry like earrings, bracelets and more! We are also looking into learning how to integrate Stripe to facilitate online payment transactions :)
