Inspiration
During the COVID-19 pandemic, almost 4 in 10 adults have reported symptoms of anxiety or depressive disorder, up from 1 in 10 before the start of the pandemic. In an increasingly digitalized world, individuals need support for their mental health. LevelUp aims to help individuals "level up" their mental health.
What it does
LevelUp uses a secure log-in, where users can enter information about their mood, sleep, weight, height, and eating habits. It then analyzes this information to determine the user's overall well-being, and displays this information to the user. The aim is to make the user aware of potential improvements they could make in their lifestyle.
How we built it
React.js and the Bootstrap library was used to construct the website on the frontend. Firebase is used as the database to store user information.
Challenges we ran into
For many of us, this was our first time working with react and bootstrap. So, it was a learning experience in terms of syntax and debugging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our log-in screen uses secure google authentication, which gives the user a more "professional" feel. Since it was our first time using firebase, we're proud of this accomplishment.
What we learned
How to work in a team, and the importance of having good frontend developers for a Hackathon.
What's next for LevelUp
We will continue to work on LevelUp, improving its functionality to fulfill our desire for improving the world.
