Inspiration
We were fueled by going beyond our limits. For all team members, it was the first time to participate in a Hackathon and develop a website in less than five days. We all wanted to create something innovative and that would make a change in the lives of women who are interested in STEM but constantly face challenges due to lack of guide or mentorship in their lives.
How we built it
We built it with HTML and CSS. We also wanted to implement JavaScript and Google Cloud APIs.
What it does
It is such a challenging and fun experience that generates a feeling of accomplishment.
Challenges we ran into
First, it took us a long time before we agreed on what project to work on and what community we should target. Then, we had difficulties finding which programming language fits best our project. We test numerous languages before coming to the conclusion of using JavaScript. Eventually, we ended splitting the team into two: BackEnd and FrontEnd so that we could get the work done as soon as possible. Last but not least, debugging was a challenge as well.
What we learned
We all learned that we have no limitations other than those we choose to impose upon ourselves. We all went above our expectations in a short period of time, and because of this we all, unapologetically, affirm that we should never limit our challenges and always try to implement our little crazy ideas.
Accomplishment we are proud of
We are proud of being able to submit something tangible and realistic on our first Hackathon.
