Inspiration
We were inspired by crowdfunding platforms such as Kickstarter and GoFundMe
What it does
It’s a lending platform in which users, once registered, can apply for loans or become lenders. Users may submit loan applications, and once accepted, will be visible to lenders (other users), who may choose to lend money to the prospective borrowers. Once the money is lent, borrowers will have a set monthly payment, and must repay the loan within a certain amount of time
How we built it
It’s built with HTML, stylized with CSS and JS, and linked to an SQL database for information management
Challenges we ran into
A lot of the skills we needed today weren’t really things we were well versed in, so there was plenty of growing pains, as well as plenty of things that we learned. A notable challenge was linking all of the html pages together in a way that flowed well into each other, on top of linking the backend aspects with the frontend
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Quite frankly, getting a working prototype of something we believe in
What we learned
How to work with databases, and got comfortable with the GitHub workflow,
What's next for LendLinker
There is definitely a broader use for LendLinker, and we can definitely see more global implementations of this platform
