Inspiration

My partner and I both have friends who suffer from learning disabilities (ADHD, and Dyslexia) so we decided that we would make a platform targeted towards helping people with ADHD. Our concept was also inspired by Prodigy.

What it does

Learn-key offers a variety of different uses. Teachers and create classes and chat online inside the class with students, they can assign work that will be automatically prioritized by our schedule. Teachers can award students a crypto-currency called Learncoin, which students can use in the shop and have a sense of achievement. We offer a variety of games as well.

How we built it

The front end of the platform was built using HTML, CSS, Javascript, React.js, Three.js, A-frame, and bootstrap. The live chat was created in JavaScript, JSON, node.js, and socket.io. The main backend was built in PHP, SQL, and Solidity.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some problems with the video and our timeline however we did get it in in time, we also ran into some problems with the live chat and connecting users from across the world.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I think we're really proud of the UI for the site, we spent a lot of time on it but the Ui really looks nice now that we did. The crypto-currency shop is also another feature we're proud of.

What we learned

Throughout this hackathon, we learned to manage our time to effectively get work done and learned a lot about integrating react into the front end of the project.

What's next for Learn-key

My cousin and I both believe that our idea Learn-key has tons of potential so we are planning on continuing the development of our idea. Later features could include more game customization, better class roles, and a bigger shop to spend Learncoin. We are very excited to continue the development of this project.
