Inspiration

motto: learn, apply, rise

Welcome to FinLit, the financial literacy app designed to make learning about finances accessible, engaging, and practical for everyone. Inspired by the effectiveness of gamified learning in apps like Khan Academy and Duolingo, FinLit aims to empower users with the knowledge to manage their finances confidently, from budgeting and saving to investing and debt management.

What it does

LARFinance is an interactive platform designed to educate users about various financial topics through an AI bot interface. Users can engage in quizzes to reinforce their learning, manage their budgets effectively, and stay informed about current policies that impact their finances and lives through a dedicated news section.

How we built it

We initially crafted a prototype using Figma and are now progressing towards a full-fledged implementation utilizing React Native for seamless integration across platforms.

Challenges we ran into

Our primary challenge revolved around harmonizing diverse ideas aimed at social good. We endeavored to merge concepts of financial literacy with the importance of staying updated with current affairs, ensuring a comprehensive solution for our users.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of successfully integrating various components—news, finance, and budgeting—into a cohesive platform. Our seamless incorporation of these elements demonstrates our commitment to providing holistic support to our users.

What we learned

Throughout this process, we acquired valuable skills, including proficiency in Figma for prototyping and the selection of an appropriate tech stack. Despite being intermediates and beginners, we embraced the learning curve with enthusiasm and determination.

What's next for LARFinance

Our journey with LARFinance doesn't end here; we plan to continue refining and expanding the app beyond the hackathon. We remain dedicated to empowering individuals with financial knowledge and facilitating their journey towards financial independence.
