Inspiration
To create a bridge between our native Telugu and our friend's Swahili language! As regional languages are the heart and soul that connect us to our roots, I'm thrilled at the prospect of honoring that diversity while bringing people together. This is made us to build this App.
What it does
App icon represents the two languages coming together, using traditional Indian and African motifs Intuitive interface with vocabulary games and dialogues. Translations from one language to another language. Aims to spark curiosity, patience, and friendship across languages Goal is to nurture compassion and overcome differences Brings people together through learning each other's words and cultures
How we built it
The project uses various technologies such as Angular for frontend and Java for backend development using Spring boot. The project also utilizes a MySQL database to store user information and progress data.
Challenges we ran into
Integrations between frontend and backend. Understanding Swahili language to built a basic language. Creating grammer rules b/w Telugu and Swahili .
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Able to create the activities. Able to solve complex integrations
What we learned
Collabration and team solving Have learned about developing applications that work across different devices and platforms
What's next for Language Learning App
Continue to build out the curriculum and activities for both Swahili and Telugu, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience that covers all language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). Consider adding features like speech recognition, spaced repetition systems, and adaptive learning algorithms to enhance the learning process. Ensure that the app is not only linguistically accurate but also culturally relevant to both Swahili and Telugu speakers.
