Inspiration
Langify was inspired by Duolingo and its ability to have "conversations" with its characters. Although built very well, Duolingo never allowed YOU as the user to talk about what YOU wanted to!
What it does
Langify's AI model is built using ChatBot's open AI, which when the applicaiton is launched brings the User to a main menu where they are able to "start" the AI. After customizing their AI friend and giving it a name, they can chat in whatever language to their AI buddy and their AI buddy will respond back (in the desired language).
How we built it
I had Built this Project using Godot game engine, Chatbot AI, and Google translate API services.
Challenges we ran into
There were many challenges, and possibly the biggest one is attaching the program FOR the AI in the actual game engine. As you may notice... the application is not complete!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am very proud of trying out a completely new program, API service, and first-timing an artificial intelligence! Eventhough it was provided by Chatbot AI, I did however make the program to 1. Receive a voice-activated message from the user 2. Translate the message to any desired language, and 3. be able to send back the desired language using AI voice tool.
What we learned
I learned so much! I learned how to firstly code in Godot, use the game engine to its fullest, create/edit an AI model in which I could translate messages to people, and finally code in a completely new enviornment!
What's next for Langify
The next steps for Langify are to implement the 3d model characters, that a user will create themselves, provide save and load functionality for the characters, and finally attach the program containing the Google Translate API and Chatbot API to Godot for functionality purposes.
