Studying complex topics can be overwhelming, especially when faced with dense textbooks, lengthy PDFs, and scattered notes. We wanted to create a seamless, AI-powered tool that could instantly transform study materials into interactive flashcards and insightful research summaries. The goal was to save time, enhance learning efficiency, and make studying more engaging.

This led to the creation of "l(ai)lani", an AI assistant with the capabilities to extract information about important topics, generate flashcards, and dive into further research. Once the user uploads a PDF file, l(ai)lani parses through the text and intelligently discovers notable topics, presenting them in a list to the user. The user is able to select the specific topics that they require more research on, and is presented with three choices on how to proceed:

1) The user may choose to generate flash cards for each selected topic. 2) The user may choose to do further research on the topic, receiving formatted research text in return done by AI. 3) The user may choose to do deep research on the topic, looking into many different resources and receiving a vast and detailed response about the most specific details of research.
