Inspiration
Supermarkets aren’t really transparent about the precise origin of their products. Shopping for regional products usually means that it comes from anywhere in Bavaria – not from the region Ingolstadt. Additionally, almost everything is wrapped in plastic and isn’t as fresh as it could be due to long supply chains.
What it does
It is a delivery service for local products to help employees who are deterred from the farmers market’s horrible opening hours, experience a new flavor of the region Ingolstadt. The service is offered as a corporate benefit to the employees. As the employer pays our fees and shipping, we’re able to offer the products for a fair price. Thereby he supports the region, the health of his employees and improves employer branding.
How I built it
Currently our website exists as a non-functional prototype in Figma. For early testing we will have a simple page with a textbox to submit orders.
Challenges I ran into
Initially we only wanted to deliver to the workplace in order to reduce the amount of delivery routes, but due to the corona pandemic, many work from home permanently and thus are unable to pick up their orders at work.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Do most work in the last hour before submission deadline.
What I learned
You should definitely start earlier than an hour before the deadline 😉
What's next for kraut und rüben
We start early testing with a small company, claim world leadership and supply everyone with the best products from their region.
