Inspiration

The inspiration behind Knowledge Trove came from the idea of motivation through rewards, one of the most effective tools for overcoming procrastination. As students ourselves, we understand how difficult it can be to stay focused in a world full of distractions, where finding motivation often feels like the hardest part. With the rapid rise of AI, students are now able to offload more of their work than ever before. Knowledge Trove was created to encourage genuine effort, reduce procrastination, and reward hard work in a meaningful way.

Learning Experience + Challenges

This project represented a significant learning experience for our team, as it was our first hackathon. We learned how to build an entire project from the ground up while managing limited time, making difficult design decisions, and prioritizing which features to implement while setting others aside. From a technical perspective, our biggest takeaways included working with Bluetooth connectivity and integrating AI into a web-based platform. Beyond technical skills, one of our most important achievements was overcoming self-doubt and gaining confidence as beginners in a large-scale competition.

Development Process

The development process took place in two main stages. One team member focused on building the website and implementing AI features, while the other two members developed the hardware system and Bluetooth connectivity, all while collaboratively preparing the final presentation. This project was truly a team effort, and its completion would not have been possible without the contribution of every member.

Challenges & Future Plans

Throughout development, we faced several challenges, particularly due to limited hardware resources and supplies. We were required to adapt quickly to unexpected issues such as insufficient power supply, faulty components, and unreliable wiring. Despite these obstacles, we successfully delivered a working prototype. With additional time and access to proper materials, Knowledge Trove is a project we are excited to continue developing and refining in the future.
