Inspiration
During the pandemic, people are more intend to do everything virtually. Have you ever thought about simply earn money by sharing your knowledge to general people just right on your sofa or on your bed with the quality guaranteed by people's ratings?
What it does
Knock allows you to share your expertise by connecting people around the world with no cost, no redundant verification, no distance. It let you to "knock" people to get any knowledge you need. You can send "Business Knock", "Hangout Knock", "Party Knock" or "Romantic Knock" and so on. By sharing your knowledge with others, you can earn money by your own rate in anywhere in the world!
Unlike LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter, Knock is more like a free to get in touch people, no extra verification, and everyone can monetize your time and your time can even be trade through NFTs!
How we built it
Knock is based on SwiftUI and Ruby on Rails as backend. We are pushing people nearby your location for you by default, but you can search for anyone in the world by people's username, their DNA and so on.
Challenges we ran into
Young generations are more likely to be in Knock's world, especially including students, then there's a question, how do we make it suitable for people who don't have money? Students are more eager to acquire knowledge, it will be a huge improvement if we can solve it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that not only we can bring people close to talk, but also let them make money without any obstacles. We also successfully build up the prototype of the iOS app and backend within a short time.
What we learned
Social Network market is not a new area and there are lots of existing one which as awesome right there, but people, we can still come up new and wonderful ideas!
What's next for Knock
We will want to finish the MVP of Knock and there's actually a Knock, llc company already registered. Ideally, we want to expand the business and put a big efforts to let people know it in the future.
