The "Steal"
We were inspired by the hackathon's theme: "Good artists copy. Great hackers steal."
We saw Devin, the $20-a-month, 10x AI engineer who can do anything. We were impressed. We were inspired. We knew what we had to do.
We "stole" it.
The "Flip"
But we got... Kevin.
Kevin is the 0.1x AI engineer. He's the one you deserve. He's the AI engineer you've probably worked with. He's over-confident, he's 100% fake, and he pushes straight to main on a Friday.
How We Built It
This is a "Master Forgery" built in under 24 hours with pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No frameworks, no backend, all vibes.
We meticulously "stole" the 3-panel UI of a modern AI tool. The "AI" itself is a beautifully crafted series of setTimeout functions, a Math.random() chooser, and two pre-scripted disaster scenarios:
The "Site Not Found": Kevin "fixes" your site by deleting the node_modules and pushing... something.
The "Security Breach": Kevin "optimizes" your code by helpfully finding all your passwords and API keys and logging them to the console.
Challenges We Faced
Our main challenge was Kevin himself. He kept "helping" by trying to delete the wrong files.
Our second challenge was that the internet is apparently running out of stable GIF links, which is the real crisis facing developers today. But like Kevin, we pushed through, (mostly) untested, and shipped it.
What We Learned
We learned that a good "theft" is 90% branding. And that it's infinitely funnier to build a high-fidelity fake than a low-fidelity real app. We're not just hackers; we're innovation launderers.# What it does
