kevin-quest # Fit Legend

Originally, KevinQuest was going to be a game called Fit Legend. In Fit Legend, every step the player took in the real world would fill up their stamina bar in game. This stamina could then be used to start missions of increasing difficulty and increasingly better rewards.

Unfortunately, we ran into many issues when trying to use Google Fit's API; so we decided to rebuild a game from the ground up-- all assets drawn by hand by our team.

This became what we now call Kevin Quest, because of the player character's resemblence to the beloved SBU Professor, Professor McDonnel. In Kevin Quest, it's the player's goal to avoid danger while exploring the mysterious maze. Treasure is hidden around every corner-- but be careful, running out of stamina is just as bad as running out of Health!

The game was created using the Godot 2D Engine-- an engine similar to Unity but much more lightweight and a much cleaner interface. The Godot 2D Engine uses it's own scripting language that feels just like writing in Python.
