Inspiration
Our inspirations were Uber and Facebook mainly, as our product is like a social website for drivers and riders.
What it does
It connects carpooling users to create the most efficient carpooling routes online using location data to track what drivers are near you.
How we built it
We used Node.js, Express ejs, MongoDB, and CSS to create our website. (Used html and js in ejs templates)
Challenges we ran into
Many CSS methods did not work, displays were interfering, API key was not sent to the email even after using a card (had to change many of our previous plans). Many problems occurred in the code and ways to implement ideas and we needed complex ideas to avoid problems.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of finishing our website and having it work properly.
What we learned
We improved our skills in CSS, JS, databasing, and general web development.
What's next for KARPOOL
AI routing (for the fastest possible routes), more security, star rating/rewards system, and more user-friendly interface.
