Inspiration

Many of us struggle to find time for things that are not on our calendar. Kairos helps us make time for the things that don't have a set time.

What it does

Kairos enables users to add tasks to their calendar by prompting a generative agent. It intelligently finds the right time for the task and schedules it among your other fixed appointments.

How we built it

Kairos was built as a native app for iOS. It is programmed entirely in Swift and the UI was built using SwiftUI.

Challenges we ran into

iOS was a new development platform for all members of our team, and we were not familiar with it prior to this hackathon. Learning iOS development proved to be a challenge. Additionally, our frontend and backend were developed in parallel, and connecting them toward the end of the hackathon was a very rushed effort.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the visual quality of our app. It is as polished as an app you may find on the App Store, and the user experience – though minimal – is intuitive and lives up to the standard of Apple's Human Interface guidelines.

What we learned

We gained a lot of experience with iOS development and the frameworks involved, as well as with OpenAI's API.

What's next for Kairos

We would like to continue developing Kairos into a fully functional app and release it to the public on the App Store.
