Inspiration
Our team is all from different US states, and we were curious about how our states compared to each other.
What it does
This program uses an index we generated to value the average life expectancy against the cost of living for each state.
How we built it
We split our team into frontend and backend. Frontend handled the website making, including the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript parts. The backend team created graphs and charts using datasets found online to generate the index.
Challenges we ran into
Frontend was difficult to implement because we did not have a lot of experience in that field and the collaboration was harder because some computers had different files so it was hard to put all of it together.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to create a functional website that displays interactive maps which is something we have not done before.
What we learned
We learned how to manipulate and visualize data, and frontend development.
What's next for JVAD
We are going to edit our website to make our findings more presentable.
