Inspiration
What inspired this app was how chaotic and laborious the parking experience can be at MRU, and wanting an app that can make parking experience better on campus.
What it does
Jurassic Park is an app that updates when a user presses refresh - once refresh it tells them a list of parking spots available across various parking lots on the Campus MRU.
How we built it
This was built using Android Studio, Java.
Challenges we ran into
Android studio proved to be very difficult to work with, especially with the built in xml system. Java was also very difficult to work with in general.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to make an app that was able to update through various iterations of numbers and update with an image in mind.
What we learned
Java, XML within Android Studio.
What's next for Jurassic Park
Potentially satellite data that can update and give us real data of what parking spots are taken and are available for the app, as well as support for other universities.
