Inspiration
Every high schooler has high expectations for High School homecoming. Unfortunately, ours did not meet that expectation: too many song requests, overwhelmed DJs, and bad music. Our inspiration is to improve the song request system with an organized song list that automatically flags explicit songs.
What it does
This website efficiently organizes song requests from guests. Party hosts can create a custom party pin specific to their party. Party guests can join the pin to submit song requests to the playlist.
How we built it
Through song APIs, we could search through song lyrics for profanity to determine the explicitness of a song. We used databases to store entered pins and requested songs.
Challenges we ran into
Collaborating using Github.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Everything. We're especially proud of successfully using the domain name, APIs, and MongoDB.
What we learned
The importance of using GitHub for efficient collaboration with other team members.
What's next for JukeBox
In the future, we plan to connect JukeBox to a music streaming platform so that requested songs can simultaneously be added to a playlist.
