JPM Trading

We have developed a lightweight stock trading platform using Django. Multiple users can buy and sell shares. The platform has a simple graphical interface and can be controlled via API interfaces.

Inspiration

  • We challenged us to build something from scratch within 24 hours with almost no experience in the framework Django
  • We wanted to have something tangible

What it does

-Allows trading of stocks with multiple users -simple and intuitive user interface -Dashboard with personal stock portfolio -Allows registration and login of users -Orderbook Algorithm

How we built it

-First experiences with Django -Not enough time to implemented all our favourite features

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • building a usable interface within 24 hours
  • building a backend
  • build a database which can store and update data
  • algorithm which checks and matches incoming buy and sell orders

What we learned

  • Django, SQL, HTML & CSS
  • working as a team
  • taking breaks are mandatory if you want to work efficiently
