Inspiration:

Buying concert tickets is a massive pain for everybody. You wake up early to secure the pre-sale tickets to your favorite artist, but you still get put into an unreliable queue of bots and scalpers. To solve this problem, reward true fans and empower artists, we incorporate users' music listening data to create a data-driven ticketing platform- one that doesn't treat you like a randomly generated number.

What it does:

JayPass is an e-ticket platform that streamlines the users' experience through a guaranteed ticketing system based on listening data of users. We hope to connect loyal fans to live events of their favorite artists by now prioritizing the question by people's listening hours.

How we built it:

Web-App with stack of Node.js and React, we pull user data from Spotify API (utilizing axios from Node.js). Robust wireframe done through Figma and slide deck via Canva.

Challenges we ran into:

-It was our first time doing web-development via react and node.js, plus limited experience in Javascript led to some steep learning curves. We specifically had trouble rendering fetched data from Spotify due to our inexperience with React. -Automating and prioritizing user ease of accessibility while also balancing key features was also a big challenge we had

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Implemented Spotify authenticate tool with proper token management to fetch user data once logged in. Furthermore, added a spotify search function in app along with the added functionality of fetching top artist items from user's listening data. Very proud of how the wireframe turned out, as it stays faithful to the product vision and the planned robustness of the completed product.

What we learned:

In our final product we implemented Spotify API within a ReactJS web app. It was a very challenging but rewarding aspect of development. Next was the extensive usage of Figma animations and implementing scroll/carousel on the app wireframe.

What's next for JoyPass:

Continued development of web-app according to vision outlined by the wireframe, displaying live events for artists, and also incorporating databases for concert queues. Also could add additional features like user verification to further protect from bots/scalpers.
