The thought of slowly but surely losing the knowledge of the people about their past and traditions compels us to think of ways revitalizing this interest in cultural heritage sites through novel approaches so that future generations can benefit from the same. This project plans to use gamification as a strategy to address the problem of declining engagement and awareness of cultural heritage. By integrating game elements and mechanics into the exploration and learning process, it aims to make cultural heritage more interactive and appealing. Users will embark on heritage races, quizzes, scavenger hunts and challenges into the exploration of cultural heritage sites, creating an immersive experience that fosters a deeper connection with the past. Gamification will transform the passive observer into an active participant, making cultural heritage more accessible and engaging. Our project started with researching on the problems facing cultural heritage, which include dwindling enthusiasm for traditional approaches of instruction and learning. Following that we then created an experience for teaching by developing a game that would overcome these challenges and include elements of games like races, quizzes and scavenger hunts among others in the exploration of cultural heritage sites. Our UI/UX design is pretty good. This undertaking made us aware of the issue of lack of interest and knowledge on cultural heritage by the public with the young people being mostly affected. The study showed that traditional ways used to teach about cultural heritage have their own set of problems. We found out that inserting gamification elements into exploration and learning can enhance engagement and make it more immersive. From our project, we discovered how one may develop a game like experience that transforms passive viewers into active participants who are more emotionality connected to history. Moreover, we obtained useful ideas regarding UI/UX concepts which aided in creating an attractive as well as user friendly interface for our gamified cultural heritage experience. Our project still needs to be developed by incorporating the features of Augmented Reality and GPS tracking to maximize immersion as well as interactivity.
