Inspiration
We saw that service dogs tend to cost $17,000 at a minimum. We wanted to create a more cost-effective solution.
What it does
Using ultra-sonic sensors our bot is able to detect when objects are in the way, and safely allow its users to be navigated away from the danger.
How we built it
We used an IR- Sensor to detect when objects are in the way. Then the code that is uploaded on the Arduino runs.
Challenges we ran into
Our motors were giving us problems, as the wires kept disconnecting. Eventually, we were able to get the code and the motors to work.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to make a working prototype.
What we learned
We learned how to control motors using the software.
What's next for Navigate-E
We have plans to add a gripper so that it can pick up objects and move them out of the way.
