Inspiration
As hall residents, most of us would have encountered a situation where we run out of something, and it is inconvenient for us to buy it. This app allows you to quickly find other users who might be convenient to help you out.
What it does
Users who need help with buying items can post a request on the app. Other users who want to help can accept the request. Once it is delivered, the user who helped to buy the item can mark the request as delivered.
How we built it
This app is built using Angular with Ionic Framework for the frontend, and Firebase for authentication, database storage and hosting.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was the limited manpower, therefore I had to prioritise the features that I want to complete.
There were a few technical issues along the way which delayed the progress, but the issues were resolved by searching for solutions online.
What we learned
Other than the technical knowledge that I have picked up along the way, this hackathon is another valuable experience for me to practise knowledge and skills I previously had, which allows me to better gauge the complexity levels of various features so that in future projects, I can make a more accurate estimate of the time required. In addition, I also picked up some UI/UX knowledge while designing the app.
