Inspiration

We were inspired by the wide variety of door control apparatuses shown off at Paxton's stand after the opening ceremony.

What it does

The system allows us to control the lock of a door

How we built it

We made use of an Arduino as well as other electronic components such as IR receiver, ultrasonic sensor, servo motors, potentiometer and LCD screen

Challenges we ran into

Some components worked successfully within the simulations we performed, but issues with the physical hardware components meant we ran into some issues along the development process. We also hoped for certain hardware components that we were unable to acquire.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. We're proud of the innovation we come up with the idea for the ability to manage doors, especially in the event of something such as a fire
  2. Added an extra layer of security which can allow the door to be unlocked using the voice & presence centre.

What we learned

Two of the members of our group had never used applications such as TinkerCAD and Arduino software before, as well as low experience of working with hardware components

What's next for Intelligent Door Locking System

Adding more components to allow door access based off facial & eye recognition
