Inspiration
Dissatisfaction with the course registration process and the information readily available regarding courses.
What it does
Our project is a Chrome extension that displays course evaluation information alongside courses on courses.uoregon.edu, which allows students to make informed decisions when registering for courses.
How we built it
We built the extension with JS and HTML, CSS, with backend in Python.
Challenges we ran into
The course evaluation website is somewhat well protected from web scraping, we will have to communicate with the University in order to automatically grab evaluation data.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It looks great! And it's very accessible. It provides the most comprehensive course information.
What we learned
We learned how to make Chrome extensions, a new topic for all of us.
What's next for InlineEvals
Extending to different schools! Automatic eval data gathering! (Dependant on permission from the school)
