Inspiration

I really like Lord of the Rings and Inception, so I decided to combine ideas from two of my favorite movies.

What it does

There is a hollowed part in the inside of half the ring that only I know about, so if I am in a dream, the architect would not know that half the ring is hollow.

How we built it

The ring was designed in SolidWorks and 3D printed.

Challenges we ran into

I wanted to do an inscription, like in Lord of the Rings, but that was a bit too intricate for the 3D printers in RPL, so I made part of it carved out instead.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The ring is functional and I can wear it outside of class. I am very happy with the results.

What we learned

The project expanded my knowledge of SolidWorks, including making unusual plains.

What's next for Inception Ring

I'd like to make a chunkier ring or a necklace that I can inscribe with a 3D printer.
