In The Zone!

Lots of students get the freedom of going to other sites during class. This affects their focus and performance in class. We can't control the kids but we can control what they do on the internet.

Inspiration:

Seeing kids getting distracted during online school affecting their focus. Also, the teacher spending her valuable time teaching the kids while they just go to other sites. The teacher is wasting her time while the student is getting distracted and not learning.

What it does

First, it sends an OTP to the registered email. If you enter the correct OTP the program takes you to a menu where there will be two-buttons. One saying Proxy Server and the other says Website blocker. The Proxy server blocks every site and it will give you an input statement to unblock any sites. This is perfect for preventing distractions during class. The website blocker blocks any sites which the user selects. This is perfect to get away from a site.

How I built it

We built it using python and the winreg module in python. We also used the Tkinter module to make the graphics work.

Challenges I ran into

The winreg function and the graphics were not working at the end of the first day. Also, there were not many articles and documentations on winreg.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Completing the program and bonding with my friends. We have found a solution to a big problem in an online school.

What I learned

We learned the winreg module in python and how to control windows.

What's next for In The Zone!

Going mainstream and publishing this app as we believe in it.
