β¨ ImagiLearn β Transforming Classrooms with Immersive 3D Learning, Powered by MX Ink
π The Team
We're Jay and Nick, software developers who've been building mixed reality learning apps for classrooms through Learning Time VR. We teamed up to leverage the Logitech MX Ink stylus to create a new kind of immersive teaching tool β one where educators don't just consume content, they create it.
π© The Problem
Teachers today lack tools to create immersive, interactive 3D lessons. Existing VR education apps are passive experiences β students watch, but rarely build. There's no intuitive way for a teacher to sketch out a concept in three dimensions and bring it to life in front of their class.
π‘ The Vision
ImagiLearn is a suite of subject-specific creative modes that turn the MX Ink stylus into the ultimate classroom tool:
- π¨ Creative Mode β Free-form 3D drawing and sculpting. Teachers sketch diagrams, illustrations, and models in mid-air with full artistic control.
- π§ͺ Chemistry β Build molecular structures atom by atom and visualize chemical reactions unfolding in 3D space.
- π Math β Graph functions across three axes and let students walk around 3D geometry to build spatial intuition.
- β‘ Physics β Simulate forces, wave propagation, and electromagnetic fields with interactive, hand-drawn setups.
- 𧬠Biology β Explore cell structures, human anatomy, and ecosystems at any scale, from microscopic to life-size.
At the core is π€ AI-powered sketch-to-3D generation: a teacher draws a rough sketch, and the system converts it into a detailed 3D model β instantly turning a quick doodle into a classroom-ready visual aid.
The MX Ink is the perfect input device for this. Its pressure-sensitive tip and haptic feedback make drawing in VR feel like holding a real pen, removing the learning curve that holds most teachers back from creating in 3D.
π Working Demo β Built, Not Just Pitched
We already have a functional WebXR application. This isn't a concept deck β it's a working product you can use today on a Meta Quest 3 with MX Ink, right from the browser with no app install required.
What works right now:
- βοΈ Pressure-sensitive 3D drawing with four brush types β pen, marker, highlighter, and eraser
- π¨ 10-color palette via a radial menu with tilt-to-select interaction
- π€ AI-powered 2D-to-3D model generation β draw a sketch, get a 3D object
- π«³ Select & move tool for repositioning drawn objects and generated models
- π³ Rich haptic feedback patterns that make every interaction feel tangible
- πΈ Screenshot capture and GLB export for saving and sharing creations
- β©οΈ Full undo/redo history for confident, non-destructive editing
ποΈ Why MX Ink
The MX Ink stylus is what makes ImagiLearn possible:
- Natural pen-like input β drawing in 3D space feels intuitive from the first moment
- Pressure sensitivity β enables expressive, variable-width strokes that capture intent
- Haptic feedback β interactions feel real, from the click of a menu selection to the texture of a brush on a surface
- Familiar form factor β teachers pick it up and immediately know how to use it, because it feels like the pens and styluses they already use every day
πΊοΈ What's Next
- π Subject-specific lesson builder modes for Chemistry, Math, Physics, and Biology
- π₯ Collaborative multi-user sessions so teachers and students can create together
- ποΈ Lesson library for sharing and reusing 3D content across classrooms
- π Teacher dashboard for classroom management and lesson planning
