Inspiration

Initially, we came up with an idea to make a web app that teaches sign language and brings awareness to it. However, this did not exactly work out. As we are a group of students who are highly interested in music, we thought we could make an application that makes music more accessible to all. This inspired us to create Visual Harmony, a web app that is designed to offer to make music in an easy way.

What it does

Offer an engaging way for people to interact with technology and music.

How we built it

Leveraging the capabilities of computer vision, our team has crafted an application that can detect a person and create a skeletal body. It can also detect what the user is pointing to and produce an instrument sound note. We used JavaScript, CSS, html, node.js, tensor flow and other packages and languages to build this project.

Challenges we ran into

  • As all the teammates were from different time zones, it was difficult to collaborate, but we managed to get the project done.
  • We had to come up with a feasible idea that could be completed within the given time frame
  • Because we were running short on time, we didn't get a chance to implement some of the features we wanted

What we learned

  • We learned how to collaborate with other developers
  • We learned how to utilize different types of technologies and frameworks to create what we wanted
  • We learned how to make an aesthetically pleasing UI

What's next for Good Space

  • A mobile app version
  • Adding different instruments
  • Recommendation feature using AI based on preferences.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Some of us were beginners and this was a great learning experience for us
  • Completing the project within the given time frame.
  • Implemented most of the features we wanted
