HowFarWeAre

Inspiration

The purpose of this project is it allows people to know the distance between two locations in many different units and conversions. We hope to help people have a better understanding of distance and the size of the Earth. It is also useful for tourists to know how far they have traveled or how far they will travel. The different conversions and measurements also serve as a great way to show the relationships between different units of measure.

What it does

This project gives you the distance between your location and a location that you select in many different measurements and conversions.

How we built it

We started out with a basic website and added Api. We then made functions to convert miles into other measurements and get the user's location, allowing us to calculate the distance they are from the location.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge we faced was getting the buttons to cooperate. We solved it by changing the button and moving it, making it easier to move around. Another challenge was processing raw data with the longitude and latitude values of several countries.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of overcoming the challenges even though we were discouraged many times.

What we learned

Many of us learned from our mistakes as well as learned some languages that we have not known before. We also learned some really great teamwork skills and we were able to count on and learn from each other.

What's next for HowFarWeAre

In the future we can add more locations and use an API to browse the internet and give more detailed conversions. We can also implement other factors to ensure the comfort and happiness of the users and also give them extra information.
