Inspiration
Hexagons and honeycombs! Paper receipts occupy lots of empty space and use valuable resources that can be used elsewhere. Hexacomb hopes to follow through, like a honeycomb, with no wasted space but with all the strength and fluidity.
What it does
On the website, a QR code scanner will scan the generated QR code. The receipt will be outputted below, which can be shared or saved to the account with the buttons displayed below.
How we built it
We used Replit, an online IDE that allows users to create products in various languages. The languages we worked in were CSS, HTML, and Javascript. We utilized a QR code scanner library built by Minhaz to implement it on our website.
Challenges we ran into
One of the first challenges we ran into was implementing the idea. We had to work through various models to come up with the final product. Another challenge was implementing the QR code scanner on our website in such a short amount of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re excited that we were able to work with CSS/ HTML/Javascript to create a final product that looks modern and clean.
What we learned
Although some of us had some experience with web design, we learned a lot about working with CSS, HTML, and Javascript.
