Inspiration
History is super fun, but it can be challenging to memorize dates if you're not engaged. We wanted to create a simple solution to make studying history for fun and enjoyable.
What it does
Creates a fun environment to study and memorize history. You can either study with our given wars, or you can ask the app to use AI to create study guides for you.
How we built it
We put together a react native expo mobile app.
Challenges we ran into
Working with AI to call and get requests was something we'd never done before. In addition, we got some trouble while trying to pass parameters to a dynamic decision making screen.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of implementing a functional Gemini API to create situations for our user depending on what they want. We're also proud of getting everything done on time and creating a function app!
What we learned
One thing we learned is it is important to plan your time wisely. In addition, you should focus on the functionality of the app before focussing on design. Overall this was a great experience and we had a lot of fun!
What's next for HistoryForge
In the future, we plan to improve our design by improving our UI, text animations, and image animations throughout the app. We also want to add more content, including more variety of history. We also want to improve our AI features. We want to have our study guides generated saved to the users' accounts, as well as have the AI generate animations/images to go with their questions. We also want the AI to make the study guides more intricate, detailed, and engaging.
