Inspiration
HingeTutor is inspired by Hinge. It uses similar features to match university students to qualified tutors who have taken the class they're seeking help in.
What it does
Our app offers several tutor options to students, allowing them to swipe until they find the one that best suits their needs/preferences.
How we built it
We built it using html, css, javascript, and react.js.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into merging challenges which prevented us from having a succinct web application.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the appearance of the webpage and the concept we came up with.
What we learned
We learned how to use javascript for back-end development.
What's next for HingeTutor We hope to implements advanced matching algorithms that consider not only learning styles but also academic strengths, weaknesses, and goals to provide more accurate tutor-student matches.
Besides, we plan to add in interactive learning tools such as virtual whiteboards, collaborative document editing, and video conferencing to facilitate engaging and dynamic tutoring sessions.
We plan to expand to all universities in the US, and we hope our efforts get students passionate and excited about learning and connecting with people.
