Inspiration

Sounded fun, so we thought why not?

What it does

Our game Hide and Eat is a multiplayer game that allows you to play as either the ghost or Pac-Man, where the goal of the Pac-Men is to collect enough cherries to win, and the goal of the ghost is to capture the Pac-Men.

How we built it

We utilized p5 javascript to create the actual layout and logic of the game, and glitch.io to implement the sockets for multiplayer usage. For the sprites, we found them online and repurposed them for our needs.

Challenges we ran into

There were countless challenges we ran into when developing this game. One of the biggest challenges was implementing the multiplayer aspect of this game. This required a lot of trial and error to get right. Another major issue was the time constraint and utilizing a programming language that we had never worked with before.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The biggest accomplishment for us was the multiplayer aspect of the game, as it took us the longest to implement. We also are proud of the fact that our game is enjoyable to play.

What we learned

We learned a lot about how p5 javascript works, game development, collision detection, and most importantly, working in a team setting.

What's next for Hide and Eat

We plan on scaling our game up to allow for a larger player base, more powerups, and customizable maps and levels.
