Beyond just addressing the immediate dangers of abuse, Hestia focuses on empowering individuals to break free from the cycle of violence and rebuild their lives.

What it does

Through a combination of AI technology, emergency support features, and access to essential resources, Hestia offers a lifeline to those trapped in abusive situations. By providing education on recognizing abuse, 24/7 lookout for any trigger words that may allow the application to record instances of violence for proof and to gain immediate access to emergency services, as well as connections to legal, financial, and emotional support, Hestia aims to break the silence and empower victims to reclaim their safety, dignity, and autonomy.

Intended Audience

HESTIA is intended for individuals who are victims of domestic abuse or at risk of experiencing domestic violence. This includes people of all ages and backgrounds who may be in need of support, resources, and guidance to navigate and escape abusive situations. Additionally, HESTIA aims to destigmatize domestic abuse for everyone, including victims and professionals working in the field of domestic violence prevention and support. This inclusive approach seeks to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals feel empowered to seek help, access resources, and break the silence surrounding domestic violence.

How we built it

Hestia's development process involved extensive research into the needs of domestic abuse victims, human-centered design principles, and collaboration with experts in various fields such as law, psychology, and social services.
