Inspiration
In 2023, I switched from pre-medical to Computer Science. Learning Python clicked for the first time. But in Muzaffargarh, a small city in Pakistan, the pathway to tech was invisible. No bootcamps, few female role models, and family doubts made the journey lonely.
Online communities, Kaggle, my sister, and supportive professors became my guides. They shared roadmaps. They celebrated my small wins.
Fast forward two years:
- 🥇 1st place globally - Harvard CS50x Puzzle Competition 2025
- 📊 Kaggle Expert - Top 4% out of 51,000+ competitors
- 🎓 Class topper - 4 consecutive semesters, 3.88/4 CGPA
- 🏆 Prime Minister's Scholarship - Full undergrad merit-based funding
- 💉 Built healthcare AI models with 97%+ accuracy
But here's the thing: I got lucky. I stumbled into the right communities. Most girls don't. 63% lose STEM interest by age 16 simply because no one shows them the path. HerPath exists to change that.
What It Does
HerPath is the AI-powered mentor I needed, offering personalized guidance for any girl, anywhere.

How We Built It
Frontend: React.js, Tailwind CSS, Chart.js, Local Storage
AI Backend: Google AI Studio Gemini 3.0 Flash, context-aware conversation, structured JSON for roadmap generation
Key achievements:
- Advanced AI prompting for empathy, validation, and human connection
- Intelligent roadmap generation based on user interests, skill level, and barriers
- Synchronized progress tracking and mobile-first design for low bandwidth
Challenges
- Making AI feel like a real mentor, not a robotic tutor
- Recognizing and handling math anxiety
- Ensuring progress and roadmap synchronization
- Balancing encouragement with realism
Accomplishments
- Real girls (ages 14-18) tested HerPath and reported trust, clarity, and motivation
- Scalable mentorship protocol: 6 conversation modes, context memory, adaptive difficulty
- Solved my own problem at scale: free, accessible, personalized guidance for unlimited users
- Built during the final year while maintaining top rank and competitions
What We Learned
Technical: Prompt engineering is an art and a science. Design for real users with flexible, offline-capable roadmaps.
Personal: My story is my superpower. Representation matters. Mentorship multiplies impact. Good tools change trajectories.
Next Steps
Short-term (3 months)
- Peer study circles, project showcases, mentorship matching
- Multi-language support, voice mode, adaptive difficulty, platform integrations
Long-term (1-2 years)
- Scholarship alerts, hackathon finder, internship prep, college/career mapping
- Research & impact measurement
- Corporate and institutional partnerships
- Goal: Every girl anywhere can type "I want to learn coding" and find HerPath first
Why This Matters
In 2023, I was scared and lost. With mentors, I succeeded. Most girls do not have that. HerPath scales guidance, encouragement, and opportunities to anyone who needs it.
Your background does not define your future. Taking the first step does. HerPath walks with you the rest of the way.
