Inspiration

As college students, we struggle with lots of stress and work so we forget to take care of our hair.

So our team wanted to provide the necessary resources for college students to easily access affordable and natural products to maintain healthy hair.

What it does

Our product asks for the user to input their hair type and based on the user's input, we provide recommendations of products, and the links to purchase the products.

How we built it

We used Xcode and Swift to create the front end. We also utilized Figma to design the User Interface of the project.

Challenges we ran into

As beginners, we struggled with getting GitHub set up as well as using Xcode. With the new update of code, there were many limited resources for us to refer to and mentors/peers with limited knowledge of the updated version of Xcode and Swift.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the UI design, especially because we are new to this. Similarly, the products that were recommended and the overall research effort that was involved throughout the project was something we are proud of. Through the hackathon, we learned to persevere, be optimistic and communicate with one another.

With this being our very first Hackathon Project, we are proud of what we have accomplished and hope to build off of what we have completed through this hackathon.

What we learned

We learned how to efficiently do research for learning new app development, design, and research skills!

What's next for HerHair

Future Plans - we would like to make it more functional with more resources and more personalization involved. We would like to implement the ML API so that it can scan the user's hair and generate the hair type that is involved.

We would also like to continue working on this project and publish it into the app store.
