Inspiration

Hello Sika, an AI-Powered Interactive Knowledge Hub project was inspired by Sika's challenges with data fragmentation, language barriers, and communication gaps among employees. The project aimed to create a centralized knowledge platform to address these challenges and enhance internal collaboration. Alejandro also made sure that we made the right choice.

What it does

Hello Sika can provide information and assistance regarding Sika products, their usage, and relevant product data sheets in different languages for internal and external users.

How we built it

We tried to stand on the shoulders of giants, we utilized Azure and its cognitive search functionality to quickly go through the provided documents, and used OpenAI to produce an inteligable response. this is being presented by Azure web app services that shows the prompt.

Challenges we ran into

Finding the right service to use wasn't easy, we surfed through the services available in Google Cloud Platform as well as the services in Azure. after extensive search we decided to use the above mentioned stack. During the work, we encountered an odd bug with the provisioning of the stack, we spent more than 3 hours troubleshooting with Microsoft team. While this was challanging, it was great seeing these experts in action as well as having some side chats with them.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have learned how to use new technologies. It was great that we could test our software with real data and get feedback about the correctness of our results directly from the experts at Sika's booth. Another great experience was that we quickly managed to cooperate as a team of multiple nationalities.

What we learned

We started with very limited knowledge in AI and search methodology, but managed to research the topic, attempted differeny approches and ended up with a working MVP for a real use-case.

What's next for Hello Sika

As a next step, other IT systems with additional data could be added. For an even better user experience a speech-to-text functionality would be useful. As the accuracy of the results are of great importance, the search algorithm should also be constantly improved and reviewed for its quality.
