Inspiration
Helios, son of Titans Hyperion, who symbolized “Light,” and his sister Theia, who symbolized “Sight,” drove the chariot of sun in the heavens. Just as Colossus of Rhodes was built to pay tribute to his “power,” our mobile application utilizes this “light” to unveil the “soul” present in all arts.
Art became my therapy, seeing the imperfect me, not the topper, but me. Soulmate from ages, soothing chaos, igniting happiness. I wanted to build Helios with this warm hug, a collective process where everyone unlocks their inner artist with Greek mythology's Helios combined with AI magic.
What it does
The system searches artwork for image segmentation (category/artist/year/technique), enhances with nano banana edits in iconic styles, animates with Veo, tells stories with voice, finds local events with knowledge, instructs with painter memory games, and induces real-time collaborations—all occurring in a heaven of soothing cloud unicorns with a setting of pastel light pink, blue, purple, golden, and metallic silver (refer to the automatically created image above).
How we built it
Built solo in React Native/Expo using Gemini APIs (Nano Banana Pro for edits/gens, Veo for videos), Firebase for auth/community, TailwindCSS for divine gradients, Framer Motion/Lottie for the breathing effects, and inspirations from my AI/ML hackathon such as Ninurta.
Challenges we ran into
The Challenges we encountered, of which a few were: chaining multimodal APIs together successfully, creating the emotionally engaging UI that’s therapeutic, not ‘cool,’ syncing voices/animations on mobile without lag, and delivering the right degree of ‘myths’ details for accessible ‘joy.’
Accomplishments that we're proud of
End-to-end flow: scan a photo → Helios glows it into a Van Gogh remix → Veo brings it to life → voice whispers its story → share to community. Mythic branding + 60fps unicorn magic that feels like therapy. Ready for a piece in the book chapter, developed out of personal healing.
What we learned
Art's light, like Helios, illuminates truths that tech-heightens therapy sessions scale with sharing. Gem's power needs poet-prompts; solo hacking prospers with passion more than polish. Imperfection in creation breeds unbreakable connections with consumers.
What's next for Helios Artistic AI Platform
Therapist collaborations for guided sessions, Apollo-inspired AR sun chariot tours of user galleries, mashups of global mythology (Indian gods included!), 3D prints, and a community to serve as my digital soulmates to shed light on beauty imperfection around the globe.
