Inspiration
The inspiration was from videos & posts online, where people post mirror selfies lying about their height, and other people expose their actually height, by using other objects that are in the photo.l
What it does
When a photo with the person's whole head and phone is provided, the program can predict how tall the person actually is.
How we built it
A human's head to height ratio is around 1:7-8, so using the head's amount of pixels, and the phone's amount of pixel's, the head's height can be estimated, letting the person's height also be estimated. The phone is detected through YOLO object detection, and the head is found through a similar process.
Challenges we ran into
Being able to find the head specifically, and the head to height ratio being accurate.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Most of the time, heights online differ by ±3 inches
What we learned
How to use python packages, specifically different image recognition packages.
