Inspiration
From a report published by Statistics Canada, heart disease was said to be one of the top two leading causes of death for both women and men in 2021. While heart disease does affect Canadians of all ages, over half (57.6%) of deaths attributed to heart disease occurred in people 80 years of age and older." This statistical insight presents the vulnerability of our elderly population to the threat of heart-related complications. Now, consider this: your grandparents or even parents could contribute to this jarring statistic in the future. Keeping this in mind today, we embark on a journey that will address this personal concern and forge a path toward a safer tomorrow.
What it does
HeartBot persists in finding an innovative and seamlessly integrated system that can proactively monitor heart health, offering timely alerts when irregularities are detected.
How we built it
HeartBot will make use of its various features and sensors to provide a comfortable and effective service to its consumers. We used an Arduino kit with an ultrasonic, audio, and heart rate sensor to construct HeartBot. We used different materials and wires to put together the final prototype.
