Inspiration

We were inspired by the staggering statistic that medical errors harm millions and kill 250,000 Americans annually, with many mistakes being preventable. We wanted to tackle the root cause by focusing on prevention through education and empowering children to build healthy habits early.

What it does

HealthyTales is an AI-powered platform that generates interactive, choose-your-own-adventure games for kids, teaching them preventive health measures to avoid infections, diseases, and hospitalizations.

How we built it

We built HealthyTales using DALL-E, Elevenlabs, and OpenAI APIs to create dynamic, engaging storylines and paired them with a user-friendly interface for families to easily access and customize content.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was ensuring the content was both educational and entertaining for kids while being simple enough for parents to use. Balancing creativity with accuracy in health messaging was also tricky.

We’re proud of creating a unique, consumer-driven solution that focuses on prevention, not just treatment, and has the potential to make a generational impact on health outcomes.

What we learned

We learned the importance of gamification in education, as it boosts engagement and retention, and how early intervention can significantly reduce long-term healthcare costs and errors.

What's next for HealthyTales

Next, we plan to expand the platform with more health topics, partner with schools and pediatricians, and integrate parental progress tracking to measure the impact of healthy habit-building over time.
