Inspiration

Web5, or the decentralized web, addresses several key issues in the realm of health records and data management. Data Security, Privacy, Interoperability and Accessibility are among several issues that web5 solves. This has inspired us to build our solution using Web5.

What it does

Empowering individuals to take control of their health journey, HealthX harnesses the decentralized web to seamlessly store and share medical records. With decentralized identifiers, it puts patients at the center, granting them secure access to their health history while fostering trust with healthcare providers.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Building with TBD web5/api was bit challenging due to the package being in tech preview and some of the issues like downtime of DWNs and absence of an identity wallet was bit challenging to work with Web5

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In spite of all of these challenges we were able to build a working project on Web5 and utilize the power of Web5 to issue secure health records. We are very happy and proud of this accomplishment.

What we learned

We got to learn new advancements and specifications by DIF foundation in identity space and got to work closely with DIDs and DWNs. Learning these new technologies was empowering.

What's next for HealthX Protocol

We plan on to build and add new features in our protocol in upcoming phases. Some of the obvious ones are integration of an identity wallet as soon as it is available from TBD and features like access request and sharing of records in our healthX dashboard. All of these has also been shared in detail under project README's "Future Vision" section.
