Inspiration
After taking a deeper dive into the sluggish speeds and the inefficiencies associated with faxing patient data, our team realized a solution must be made. We have decided to develop a product to allow medical teams the ability to digitize patient data, input, and easily access the information at a moment's notice.
Featuring, the easy-to-use and scalable database for medical professionals, HealthBase.
What it Does
Our product HealthBase, allows medical professionals to have their own login and connect it to their organization. From there, the individual can either input new patient data or access existing patient data available in the database. Thus, allowing it to be easily transferred across medical teams as a replacement for the inefficient faxing system.
What we Learned
The development of HealthBase has pushed our team to learn and familiarize ourselves with useful technologies, languages, and services. For instance, learning how to use both React for the front end and MongoDB for the backend in unison.
Challenges Faced
Along the way, our team has faced numerous challenges primarily around connecting the information received on the website and having it stored in an accessible manner to the database. To resolve this, we decided to change the foundation of our database from the backend. After doing so, we were able to establish the necessary means for ensuring the functionality of HealthBase.
What's Next for HealthBase
In the future, HealthBase could continue to be developed in order to grow into a faster and cleaner product. It could also be further modified to serve other functions in the space of secure, yet rapid communication.
