Inspiration
We wanted to make a chatbot that could help people who couldn't speak or had to stay silent during emergency calls.
What it does
It gives the user advice during dangerous emergency situations, and has a panic button that submits a tip to the authorities. There is also an "Escape" button that will close the tab while also submitting a tip.
How we built it
Through HTML and Python, and using different API keys.
Challenges we ran into
Adjusting the website itself and running into problems with the website in general.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making our first project with APIs.
What we learned
We learned how to implement an API and use Geopy to determine someone's location.
What's next for Haven: The Emergency Chatbot
We would implement an API that allows SMS messages to be submitted to emergency authorities instead of a tip, but that API costs money.
