Inspiration: The inspiration behind "Hari Hacks" was to create a fun and challenging gaming experience that would captivate players of all ages. We wanted to develop a game that could provide entertainment and a sense of achievement, all while promoting the spirit of perseverance and determination.
What it does: "Hari Hacks" is an addictive and engaging game that puts players' hand-eye coordination and reflexes to the test. The game follows the adventure of "Clumsy Bird," a quirky and endearing character who must navigate through a series of obstacles to reach the highest score possible. The goal is simple: keep the Clumsy Bird flying while avoiding pipes and other barriers that appear along the way.
How we built it: We built "Hari Hacks" using a combination of different technologies. The game was developed using Unity, a powerful game engine that allowed us to create stunning visuals and smooth animations. We used C# for coding the game logic and mechanics, enabling us to implement the bird's movement, collision detection, and score tracking.
The artwork and graphics were designed using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, giving the game a vibrant and charming appearance. Additionally, we used various sound effects and background music to enhance the overall gaming experience.
Challenges we ran into: Throughout the development process, we encountered several challenges that pushed us to think creatively and problem-solve. Some of the main challenges included:
Physics and Controls: Creating a satisfying and intuitive flying motion for the Clumsy Bird while maintaining a level of challenge required careful fine-tuning of physics and controls.
Obstacle Generation: Designing a dynamic obstacle generation system that offered a fair yet challenging progression of difficulty for players was a significant challenge.
Performance Optimization: Ensuring smooth performance across different devices, especially on mobile platforms, required optimizing the game's graphics and code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Despite the challenges we faced, we are immensely proud of what we achieved with "Hari Hacks." Some of our proudest accomplishments include:
Polished Gameplay: We managed to create a polished and seamless gameplay experience, making "Hari Hacks" enjoyable for players of all skill levels.
Art and Sound Design: The combination of vibrant artwork and lively sound effects elevated the game's appeal and added to its overall charm.
Positive Feedback: During playtesting, we received positive feedback from players, who found the game addictive and engaging.
What we learned: Developing "Hari Hacks" taught us valuable lessons in game development, teamwork, and problem-solving. Some key takeaways include:
Iterative Design: We learned the importance of iterating on the game mechanics and design to achieve the best possible user experience.
Collaboration: Effective collaboration and communication among team members are crucial for a successful project.
Player Feedback: Listening to and analyzing player feedback is vital for identifying areas of improvement and refining the game.
What's next for Hari Hacks: The journey for "Hari Hacks" does not end here. We have exciting plans for the future of the game, including:
New Levels and Challenges: Introducing new levels with different themes and challenges to keep players engaged.
