Inspiration

As students that have to spend their Ramadan away from their families, and as individuals who happen to be driving at Iftar time, we often find ourselves in situations where it’s hard if not impossible to find a place for Iftar. Not to mention the number of families that are in need and can not cover their Ramadan expenses.

What it does

HacBourak is a mobile application dedicated to helping both non profits and individuals to organize charity events (Mataim Rahma, Donation collection..) and also gives the ability for individuals to find volunteering opportunities near them. The main functionalities of the app are :

Find charity events with all their kinds, near you.
Add new events.
Check for volunteering opportunities.
For individuals only | Mark yourself available for volunteering to receive notifications right away.
For associations only | Post about new volunteering opportunities.

Challenges we ran into

We run into many complications while deciding the UI for our application and how to ensure the safety of our users when they move to the featured places and events.

What we learned

It was definitely a nice opportunity to learn more about flutter !

What's next for HakBourak

As we were limited by the time, we have a couple of functionalities that we hope to see come to life shorly:

The user can confirm his availability to volunteer without specifying in which event he want to contribute. At the same time, associations have the possibility to view people that are available and contact them.
Adapt the app not only for ramadan but also to the rest of the year. -Drag this app in a special category (the category of food) for a bigger app for volunteering.
Add online donation functionnality.
Improve the user experience.
