Inspiration
People road rage by yelling at their cars - but what if the cars yelled back?
What it does
It tracks your vehicle's speed, and compares it to a recommended speed limit based on the current road's speed limit and weather conditions
How we built it
We have a Flask backend which uses the Overpass and AccuWeather APIs to query real time speed limits and weather conditions. This is then displayed on a HTML frontend.
Challenges we ran into
We had several distinct parts that had to communicate through a Flask backend, and getting all of them to work correctly together was the biggest hurdle.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Creating an idea that has some real world utility, and successfully executing it!
What we learned
All of us gained experience with real-world software engineering, and designing a scalable implementation of our idea.
What's next for Screaming Car
Now that we have a functional prototype of our idea, all of us are excited to see if it's possible to design a road worthy version.
