Inspiration

Most people have an existential dread when they see the check engine turn on in their car. We wanted to solve that issue and help people keep good care of their cars and not have to worry too much about car issues.

What it does

You sign up for periodic text messages reminding you when to change your oil and other car maintenance essentials. We also provide valuable beginner car maintenance information on our website. We wanted to make it easy-to-use, so we created a very simplistic interface that only requires a phone number and creates reminders based on what you marked.

How we built it

The front end was developed with Javascript, CSS, and HTML. The back end was done with Flask, SQL. Twilio, and Python.

Challenges we ran into

For many of us, we had to learn completely new languages and even how to use GitHub. It was a tough learning curve but enjoyable overall.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are so proud of getting to show off our project and we were able to learn in just 36 hours. for many of us, we will continue developing similar projects because of how fun they were.

What we learned

We learned so much! Our front-end team built the website bottom-up with no previous knowledge. Our back-end team learned Flask, Twilio, and built on their knowledge of SQL.
